Major Cuts to Transportation and Activity Costs for National Sales Meeting
A client wanted to conduct their national sales meeting in the Orlando area during peak travel season. However, their budget for the entire meeting was limited, particularly when it came to transportation and evening events. This client needed a quality sales meeting unhindered by these budgetary restrictions.
Gavel initially took advantage of our knowledge of and working relationships within the Orlando market. The Gavel Account Manager quickly sourced and secured a resort that met all the client’s meeting and budgetary requirements. He also aggressively pursued negotiations with the resort, searching for ways to cut transportation and activity costs.
The Gavel Account Manager successfully negotiated with the resort and obtained complimentary round-trip ground transportation to Disney Springs for one evening event and Epcot for another. This resulted in a 40% decrease in the ground transportation budget. In addition, Gavel was able to secure special, non-advertised, after-4pm Epcot park passes for each meeting attendee—at 45% below retail pricing. These efforts produced a successful meeting and some memorable experiences for their attendees, all while keeping within budget requirements.
